Babri demolition judgment satisfies collective consciousness of hindutva: Asaduddin Owaisi MP

“Violence pays for you politically. You can estimate that wherever Advani’s Rath Yatra went, there was bloodshed,”All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi MP told media in response to the special CBI court’s verdict acquitting all 32 accused Hindu nationalist leaders in the 1992 Babri masjid demolition case.

“This judgment satisfies the collective consciousness of hindutva and its followers and its ideology,” Hyderabad MP said.

Nearly three decades after the Babri Masjid was razed by Sangh Parivar mob in Uttar Pradesh, all accused including former deputy Prime Minister LK Advani in the Babri Masjid demolition case acquitted by the Special CBI court on Wednesday.

Reading out the 2,000-page order, Judge Judge SK Yadav observed that evidences against the accused are not strong enough and the Babri Mosque demolition incident was not pre-planned.

“I am feeling the same humiliation I felt on December 6, 1992,” Owaisi went on to add.

While adressing reporters, Owaisi asked: “Supreme Court had said that it was a calculated act of destroying a place of worship. I am unable to understand that if this was an egregious violation of rule of law, was the mosque martyred using magic on December 6? Were idols kept inside on the nights of December 28 and December 29 in 1949 by magic? Were the locks opened using magic when Rajiv Gandhi was prime minister?”

“Did the CBI chargesheet not say that Advani hatched the conspiracy at Vinay Katiyar’s home on December 5? Is it not true that Advani told Kalyan Singh not to resign until the mosque is demolished so that the government is not dismissed? Did the BJP government (UP) not promise the Supreme Court that it would protect the mosque?” Owaisi further said.

He stated: “The world knows that BJP, RSS, and Shiv Sena were responsible. Even Congress, the root is there. It was during Congress rule that the idols were kept (inside the mosque), locks were opened, shilanyas was done, and the demolition happened.”

Referring to special CBI judge SK Yadav’s judgement where he said that the Babri Masjid demolition was a spontaneous inicent, Owaisi said he wants to know how many days and how many months will it take for it not to be spontaneous.
