The assembly election results for Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have come in the Congress’s favour. In both the states, the Congress has failed to secure a clear majority. In Rajasthan, the Congress fell short by one seat and in Madhya Pradesh by two seats. Of the 230 seats in the state, the Congress has won 114, while the BJP has 109. The half-way mark required to form government is 116. The Congress will now have to gain support of the BSP (which has two seats), the SP (which has one seat) and try to rope in as many of the four Independents that have this time. On the other hand, in Rajasthan, the Congress is in a much more comfortable position. The difference between the seats won by the BJP and the Congress is much wider. The Congress has won 99 of the 199 seats that went to polls. The BJP on the other hand has won 73 seats.
In order to form government, the Congress is likely to seek support from the BSP (6 seats), the CPI(M) (2 seats) and other smaller parties. To be in a more reassured position, the Congress will also try to woo the 13 Independents, many of who are rebel Congress leaders.
In Rajasthan, total number no seats.is 199 out of 200 constituencies.Out of which, The Indian National Congress won 99, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has 73, Bhartiya Tribal Party got 2, Communist Party of India (Marxist) won 2,Rashtriya Lok Dal 1, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party has 3 and, Independents has won 13 seats.
In Chhattisgarh, The Congress finally won 68 seats in the 90-member assembly, while the BJP managed to win 15 seats. The party is well poised to form its first government in Chhattisgarh after the state was formed. In Telengana, Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) stormed to power once again with his party–the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)–wining a comfortable majority. There are 119 seats in the state, and TRS has won 88 of them. The Congress won only 19 seats while the BJP’s tally fell from 5 to 2.
In Mizoram, the Mizo National Front won 26 out of 40 seats — a clear majority. With just 6 seats, the Congress lost its last bastion in the region (Outgoing Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla lost both the seats he hoped to win.). The BJP won 1 seat, and Independents won 8.
