The Mumbai Police has appointed ACP-level officer Milind Khetle, to investigate allegations against Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, who is investigating the drugs on cruise ship case involving Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.
“I have not been summoned. I have come here for a different purpose. All the allegations against me are baseless”. Sameer said while speaking to the reporters on Tuesday from NCB office in national capital. ANI news agency reports.
So far, four police stations in Mumbai have received complaints against Wankhede, which have been clubbed and will be probed by the officer Milind Khetle. However, though the complaint has been received, the Mumbai Police has not yet registered a case.
One of the complaints filed against Wankhede is by the independent witness in the drugs on cruise case, Prabhakar Sail. His statement was recorded at the Sahar police station.
Earlier on Monday Wankhede in a special court said that he and his family were being targeted and they are ready to face investigation on all the allegation against him.
Two affidavits have been filed in this case so far, one by NCB and another by Wankhede. Wankhede and Maharashtra minister and senior NCP leader Nawab Malik were at open warfare over the investigation of drugs on cruise ship case.
Nawab Malik has brought several allegations against Sameer Wankhede, including of false cases, extortions and fake marriage certificate. What started as slamming each other in the aftermath of the arrest of Aryan Khan has now turned into a political storm with Nawab Malik bringing out personal details of Sameer Wankhede.
Nawab Malik tweeted a copy of his ‘nikah nama’ or marriage certificate alleging that despite being a ‘Muslim’ Wankhede got IRS job in SC quota.
 “My father is a Hindu, My mother a Muslim. My mother had asked me perform the wedding as per Islamic rituals and I fulfilled my mother’s wish, which is not a crime. The very same month in which Nikah was performed, we got our marriage registered under provisions of the Special Marriages Act. What I did is not a crime,” Wankhede said after Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik tweet.
“By sharing our personal photos, Nawab Malik is acting against the constitutional oath he took. We’ll take legal action against him, an FIR has been registered. His only motive is to remove Sameer Wankhede from his post so that his son-in-law could be saved,” Kranti Wankhede’s wife responded on Tuesday reports Hindhusthan Times.
