Following the Mathura court in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday said that a group of plaintiffs had the right to file a lawsuit seeking the removal of the Shahi Idgah mosque, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that the “robbing Muslims of their dignity is the only goal now.”
“Mathura’s Sri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sangh and Shahi Idgah Trust had resolved their issues by an agreement in 1968. Places of Worship Act 1991 prohibits such cases from even going to court. But law doesn’t matter anymore.Robbing Muslims of their dignity is the only goal now,” Hyderabad MP tweeted.
He also shared the photograph of thr agreement between Sri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sangh and Shahi Idgah Trust in Twitter.
In a fresh order, a Mathura court on Thursday said that a group of plaintiffs had the right to file a lawsuit seeking the removal of the Shahi Idgah mosque.
“Right to sue of the plaintiff will stand restored. Case will be restored at its original number,” Bar and Bench quoted District Judge Rajesh Bharti as saying.
The suit was moved to remove the Shahi Idgah Masjid on grounds that it was built over Krishna Janmabhoomi land.
The Hindu plaintiffs have, staked claimed to 13.37 acres of mosque land on the ground that it was the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
Two years ago, a civil court had dismissed the suit citing the bar on admitting the case under the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991. The lower court had rejected the suit in limine on the ground that if suit is registered a large number of worshippers may come to the court.
