Delhi polls: Manish Sisodia alleges BJP of distributing money to voters in Jangpura constituency

Former deputy chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia alleged that BJP polling agents were distributing money to voters near a polling booth in Sarai Kale Khan, which falls under the Jangpura constituency.

A video clip of the purported incident surfaced on social media, where Sisodia could be seen arguing with the BJP supporters and policemen.

Sisodia is heard in the video, stating, “The BJP candidate was distributing money in this house. Why is the Election Commission not raiding this house?.”

After a strong protest by AAP workers led by Sisodia, the table was removed from the booth, but the Election Commission and Delhi Police did not take any action in the matter of distributing money at home.

Aam Aadmi Party on its official handle on X, said, “BJP is distributing money among voters in collaboration with Delhi Police and Election Commission. In the Jangpura assembly, going against the rules, the BJP had placed an extra table at the booth under police supervision. Money was being distributed in a house behind this booth.”

However, Delhi police refuted Manish Sisodia’s allegation stating, “Police and FST team reached at the place of incident after the incident was reported. Candidates of AAP and BJP argued with each other , but the situation was controlled by police. Further,no proof of money distribution was found by the FST Team.”
