Delhi reports 20000 COVID cases, positivity rate 19.6%

Delhi reported 20,181 fresh coronavirus cases and seven more deaths on Saturday.

The positivity rate has gone up to 19.6% and there are 48,178 active cases in the national capital region. Delhi reported 11,869 recoveries on Saturday.

Delhi health minister Sayendar Jain said most of the patients who succumbed to coronavirus infection on Thursday had comorbidities.

Roads were empty and markets deserted on Saturday morning, as the weekend curfew began in the national capital.

The weekend curfew in the city started at 10 pm Friday and will continue till Monday 5 am.

Meanwhile, Delhi authorities said devotees will be allowed to visit Gurudwaras on Sunday on the occasion of Prakash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh in relaxation to the weekend curfew norms.
