The tragic death of 15-year-old Mihir, who allegedly took his own life due to relentless bullying at his school, has sparked an outcry throughout Kerala, drawing widespread condemnation, calls for justice, and demands stronger regulations to prevent bullying and protect students from such traumatic experiences.
The social media users in Kerala began a ‘Justice for Mihir’ campaign seeking action against those responsible for his death, as his mother, Rajna P.M, revealed shocking details of the relentless bullying and ragging he endured at Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor in Kerala’s Ernakulam district.
“I am begging for justice for Mihir. His death must not go in vain. Those responsible for this barbaric act must face the full force of the law, and systemic changes must be made to ensure no other child suffers like Mihir did,” Musthafa said.
He urged everyone to support this fight for justice—not just for Mihir, but for “every child who dreams of a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow.”
Wayanad MP and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi expressed her deep sorrow and anger over the case, voicing strong support for Mihir’s family in their fight for justice.
She took to X, stating, “Reading the letter written by Mihir’s mother is heartbreaking. As mothers, all we wish for, is the safety and happiness of our children. I cannot even imagine the pain and anger she must feel to know that her child was tortured and hounded in the way she has described. Her fight for justice is an act of bravery and fortitude.”
Priyanka also condemned schools’ attempt to cover up the issue, “The school authorities should have the courage to acknowledge the reality of this crime, accept responsibility, and not attempt to cover it up. It is their duty, and the duty of the state government to do all they can to provide justice for Mihir.“
“How can we allow children to be subjected to this kind of cruelty and criminality and do nothing? It’s about time strict laws are brought in to prevent ragging and protect young people who deserve safety and support as they build their futures”, she emphasized.
Leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi expressing his condolences to Mihir’s family insisted that, “No child should endure what Mihir faced. Schools must be safe havens for children yet he suffered relentless torment. Those responsible—both bullies and those who failed to act—must be held accountable”.
“Bullying isn’t harmless; it destroys lives. Parents must teach kindness, love, empathy, and the courage to speak up. Believe your child if they say they’re being bullied, and intervene if they are the bully”, he noted.
Popular actor Samantha Prabhu, shattered by the incident, urged her young followers that “If you see bullying, call it out. Speak up. Support the victim. Silence enables abuse. If you are bullied, seek help. There is always a way out”.
“It’s 2025. Yet, we’ve lost another bright young life, snuffed out because a few individuals, filled with hate and venom pushed someone to the brink! Mihir’s tragic death is a stark reminder that bullying, harassment, and ragging are not just ‘harmless traditions’ or ‘rites of passage. They are violence-psychological, emotional, and sometimes even physical. We have stringent anti-ragging laws apparently, yet our students continue to suffer in silence, afraid to speak up, afraid of consequences, afraid that no one will listen. Where are we failing?”, she asked.
“This cannot be met with just condolences. It demands action. I hope the authorities get to the bottom of this, and I hope the truth is not silenced by the system. Mihir deserves justice. His parents deserve closure. Strict and immediate action must follow”, Samantha added.
According to Mihir’s mother Rajna PM, Mihir was subjected to brutal ragging, bullying, and physical assault by a gang of students at school and on the school bus. Mihir was beaten, verbally abused, and forced to endure unimaginable humiliation even on his last day.
She revealed he was forcibly taken to the washroom, made to lick a toilet seat, and had his head pushed into the toilet while it was flushed.
His mother claimed that he was bullied for his skin color, as a disturbing chat screenshot reveals that the accused students messaged, “fxxk nigga he actually died,” after his death.
She accused the school of attempting to cover up the incident to protect its reputation.
A formal police complaint has been filed, and a First Information Report (FIR No. 42/2025) has been registered at Hill Palace Police Station, Thripunithara.
The Kerala General Education Department has intensified its probe into the tragic death of, as officials prepare to record statements from school authorities and his parents in Kochi.Authorities have instructed all relevant parties to appear at the Ernakulam Deputy Director’s office on Monday.
