Himachal: Congress ahead in 40 seats, top leaders head to state amid fears of horse-trading

The Congress in Himachal Pradesh has leading in 20 seats, as of 2.00 pm on Thursday.

Senior Congress party leaders left for the state amid fears of horse-trading as Congress surged past the majority mark of 35. The win is much-needed for the otherwise deflated party.

The Congress party has started to move its winning MLAs to Chandigarh, where they are likely to meet to discuss their next course of action, Indian Express reported.

Congress leaders Bhupinder Baghel, Bhupinder Hooda, and Rajiv Shukla are now heading to the hill state.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is ahead in 25 constituencies.
