‘Hindu mahapanchayat’ backs Monu Manesar, accused of Junaid, Nasir murder

A Hindu mahapanchayat was organised on Tuesday in Manesar in support of Hindutva militant and Bajrang Dal leader Monu Manesar, one of the accused in the murder case of two Muslim men, Junaid and Nasir.

Hundreds of people attended the mahapanchayat.

The mahapanchayat branded Monu Manesar, who is a serial offender and accused in many murder cases, “innocent” in the latest murder case.

Monu Manesar is on the run.

The speakers at the mahapanchayat also warned police personnel from entering Monu Manesar’s village.

“If Rajasthan Police raids the houses of Monu Manesar or the people associated with him, then the police will come, but won’t b able to go back on its feet,” a speaker said.

The burnt remains of Junaid and Nasir were found in Haryana’s Bhiwani on 16 February. The family members said to Maktoob that that Bajrang Dal men were behind their abduction and murder. They had named Monu Manesar as one of the accused.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad also called a mahapanchayat of Hindu Samaj at Hathin in Mewat on 22 February, in support of the murder accused.
