Hopes will be fulfilled: Mulayam Singh Yadav in his first appearance at UP election rally

Making his first appearance at an election rally, Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday sought votes for his son and party chief Akhilesh Yadav, promising that his party will fulfill the hopes of the people.

“The eyes of other countries of the world, including the United States, are on the Samajwadi Party in these elections and now the people of India will decide. But one thing is clear that your hopes will be fulfilled by the Samajwadi Party,” Mulayam Singh said.

At the event in Karhal from where his son and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is contesting the assembly polls for the first time, Mulayam said the people want that the problems of poverty and unemployment are resolved, and his party’s policies are very clear on these issues.

The polling for the third phase will be held on 20 February in Karhal where the BJP has pitted Union minister SP Singh Baghel against Akhilesh Yadav.

Mulayam said a progressive nation can be built when “farmers, traders, and youth work together” for the same.

Highlighting the issue of farmers, the SP patriarch said: “It is the policy of the Samajwadi Party that our farmers should be given priority, arrangement of fertilizers and seeds should be made and they be provided the means of irrigation which will increase the yield.”

“If the yield increases, the condition of the farmer will improve,” he said.

He added that every citizen of Uttar Pradesh is worried about their future.

“Today, I am very happy to be among you all. There is a huge crowd here, this is proving that the people want the SP government to be formed here,” said Mulayam while appreciating the large crowd that turned up at his rally.

In videos shared by the party handles on Twitter, they could be seen waving the party flag and chanting “jiska jalwa kayam hai…uska naam mulayam hai.”
