India, Pakistan DGMOs agree to reduce troops on borders

India and Pakistan’s Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) have agreed to begin reducing troops stationed along their borders, just two days after they resolved to halt military operations following Operation Sindoor.

On Monday at 5 pm, Indian DGMO Lt General Rajiv Ghai held a second conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Major General Kashif Abdullah, reaffirming the decisions made during their earlier communication on Saturday to cease hostilities.

The Indian Army stated: “Issues related to continuing the commitment that both sides must not fire a single shot or initiate any aggressive and inimical action against each other were discussed. It was also agreed that both sides consider immediate measures to ensure troop reduction from the borders and forward areas.”
