The tragic suicide of 15-year- old student Mihir Ahammed has sparked outrage and demands for justice, as his mother, Rajna P.M, reveals shocking details of the relentless bullying and ragging he endured at Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor in Kerala’s Ernakulam district.
Mihir, described by his mother as a happy, active, and loving child, took his life on January 15, 2025, jumping from the 26th floor of our home in Choice Paradise, Thripunithara, Kochi.
Through conversations with his friends, schoolmates, and by reviewing social media messages, his parents discovered the horrific reality behind the suicide.
According to his mother Rajna PM, Mihir was subjected to brutal ragging, bullying, and physical assault by a gang of students at school and on the school bus.
Mihir was beaten, verbally abused, and forced to endure unimaginable humiliation even on his last day.
She revealed he was forcibly taken to the washroom, made to lick a toilet seat, and had his head pushed into the toilet while it was flushed.
His mother claimed that he was bullied for his skin color. A disturbing chat screenshot reveals that the accused students messaged, “fxxk nigga he actually died,” after his death.
The mother further accused school authorities of attempting to suppress the truth by intimidating students. An Instagram page titled “Justice for Mihir,” created by his friends to shed light on the incident, was reportedly deleted due to pressure from the school.
When Mihir’s family approached the school authorities with evidence and demanded accountability, they were simply informed that the matter had been forwarded to the police.
His mother alleged that the school is attempting to cover up the incident to protect its reputation.
A formal police complaint has been filed, and a First Information Report (FIR No. 42/2025) has been registered at Hill Palace Police Station, Thripunithara.
Rajna P.M, also submitted a detailed petition to the Chief Minister’s Office and DGP along with the evidence, urging an immediate and impartial investigation, emphasizing that any delay in gathering digital evidence may allow the culprits to erase their tracks.
Additionally, she submitted a petition to the Child Commission, requesting an inquiry into the harassment Mihir faced at the hands of the vice principal of his previous school, GEMS Kochi.
Mihir’s grieving mother has vowed to fight until those responsible for her son’s death are held accountable, not just for him, but for every child who deserves a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow.
“I am begging for justice for Mihir. His death must not go in vain. Those responsible for this barbaric act must be punished, and systemic changes must be made to ensure no other child suffers as Mihir did”, she said, expressing faith in the legal system.
