Kerala: Congress led UDF manifesto promises half million homes to poor

The Opposition Congress led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala on Saturday released a”People’s Manifesto” for the state assembly polls, promising Rs 2000 monthly pension to homemakers and half million homes to the poor.

The manifesto also promised five kg free rice to all white card holders.

A special law to protect the traditions of the Sabarimala lord Ayyappa temple and a Peace and Harmony department on the model of Rajasthan,has also been promised by the UDF.

Housewives aged between 40-60, who donot come under the Nyay scheme, the minimum income guarantee programme launched by the Congress in 2019,would be entitled for the Rs 2000 monthly pension.

“This will give a boost to women towards becoming more self sufficient. The UDF manifesto aims at making Kerala the most women friendly, investor friendly state in India
And it’s manifesto is clearly mapped out to reach that goal,” it said.

Free food kits to those who had been affected by COVID-19 and no bill hospitals are among the other schemes included in the manifesto.

UDF manifesto also said it will build Arabic University if comes to power.
