
A 29-year-old woman sustained injuries after jumping from the first floor of a private lodge in Mambatta in Kerala’s Kozhikode district in an attempt to escape an alleged sexual assault by three men.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday.
According to police sources, the woman, an employee at the newly opened lodge, was resting in her room when the lodge owner, Devadas, along with staff members Riyas and Suresh, allegedly attempted to assault her.
Fearing for her safety, she jumped from the building to escape the attack. She was immediately taken to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for treatment, where her condition is reported to be stable.
Following her statement, the Mukkom police registered a case against the accused under sections related to trespassing and outraging the modesty of a woman. An investigation is currently underway, and further legal proceedings will follow based on the findings.
