Mob brutally lynch Muslim youth in Jharkhand

A 22-year-old Muslim youth Ejaz Khan, resident of Govindpur in Gumla district of Jharkhand, was brutally beaten to death by a mob on Monday. The incident took place at Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh border.

At least 30 men brutally attacked Khan with axes, sticks, and rods, according to Dainik Jagran. The assailants are from Patratoli region of Jashpur district in Chhattisgarh.

The people at the spot were accused of making no efforts to save the victim, local media reported. Khan died on the spot.

This comes days after another Muslim youth Shahbaz Ansari was brutally lynched by a Hindu mob in Jharkhand.

Jharkhand Police registered a case under IPC 414 and 379 in connection with the incident and all the accused are absconding.

No arrests were made so far in the incident, the police confirmed.

“The reason for murder is unknown and a probe is on,” said Anant Kumar Sharma, police station in charge.
