In a shocking incident, a cattle trader named Idrees Pasha was brutally murdered by a group of Hindutva men in Ramanagara district of Karnataka on Saturday. The incident has caused widespread outrage among the local residents and family members of the deceased, who have demanded swift action against the perpetrators.
According to journalist Imran Khan, one of the prime suspects in the case has been identified as Puneet Kerehalli, who has been booked by the police along with other suspects.
The family members of the deceased have accused Puneet and his associates of being cow vigilantes and demanding Rs 2 lakh to release Pasha or else they would kill him.
Following the tragic death of Idrees Pasha, his family members protested with his dead body and demanded action against Puneet Kerehalli and his associates. The family members alleged that Puneet had abused and assaulted Pasha, which led to his death.
Based on the complaint filed by the family members, the police have registered a case of murder under IPC Sections 302, 341 (wrongful restraint), and 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace).
The FIR states that Idrees Pasha had shown documents of purchase to Puneet, but he abused him and demanded Rs 2 lakh. Puneet also allegedly asked Pasha to go back to Pakistan and later chased him and assaulted him, leading to Pasha’s death. Two associates of Pasha were also injured in the incident.
The police reached the spot and pacified the agitated family members to handover the body for post-mortem.
