A Muslim man named Asim Hussain who was travelling in Padmavat Express was assaulted and stripped by Hindutva men on Thursday, 12 January.
The videos of the assault were widely shared on social media.
Following the incident, while talking to reporters, Asim said that the assailants were forcing him to raise Hindutva slogan ‘Jai Shri Ram.’
“They were shouting ‘This mullah is a thief.’ They took off my shirt and beat me with a belt, pulled my beard and asked me to chant Jai Shri Ram,” said Asim Hussain, a scrap dealer in Moradabad.
“They also took 2200 rupees kept with me,” he said.
Police said they defined two men Suraj and Satish on the basis of the video.
