National Herald case: ED summons Rahul Gandhi for fifth time today

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Congress former chief Rahul Gandhi for the fifth time for another round of questioning on Tuesday.

Rahul was questioned for the fourth day on Monday by the ED in connection with the National Herald case.

The ED had summoned Rahul last Monday and questioned him for three straight days. He was allowed a break to be with his hospitalised mother, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, before questioning resumed today.

According to Indian Express, the senior Congress leader is being questioned about the ownership of Young Indian (YI) by the Gandhi family and its shareholding in Associate Journals Limited (AJL), the company that runs the National Herald newspaper.

Last week, as Rahul Gandhi was being questioned at the ED office in the national capital Delhi, Congress senior leaders and workers were attacked by Delhi Police during protests against the “vendetta politics” by the ruling BJP.
