In another case of anti-Muslim bias from Jaunpur, a pregnant Muslim woman claimed that a lady doctor at the district hospital refused to carry out her delivery on Tuesday night, saying she would not treat Muslim patients.
In a video that surfaced on social media, Shama Parveen, who was admitted to the hospital around 9 a.m., said she was denied treatment despite being in labor.
“I lay on the bed, but the doctor refused to treat me and even told others not to send me to the operation theater,” she alleged.
Her husband, Arman, also confirmed the incident in another video.
“The doctor checked all the patients but refused to attend to two Muslim women, including my wife. She deliberately skipped them,” he said.
Parveen said she confronted the doctor, accusing her of discrimination.
“I told her she was differentiating between Hindus and Muslims, but still she ignored me,” she claimed.
