“Regret posting personal opinion,” Kangana Ranaut deletes post criticising Trump after BJP intervention

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut deleted a social media post within an hour, in which she criticised U.S. President Donald Trump for urging Apple CEO Tim Cook to halt expansion plans in India, following pressure from BJP President J.P. Nadda.

“Respected National President Shri J.P. Nadda ji called and asked me to delete the tweet I had posted regarding Trump asking Apple CEO Tim Cook not to manufacture in India. I regret posting that very personal opinion of mine. As per instructions, I immediately deleted it from Instagram as well,” said Kangana Ranaut in an X post.

Kangana Ranaut reacted to Donald Trump’s remarks made at an event in Doha, Qatar, where he opposed Apple’s manufacturing expansion in India, stating to Tim Cook that “India can take care of themselves, they are doing very well.”

In a now-deleted post on X, Ranaut speculated that Trump’s comments reflected a “love loss” for India, implying that the former U.S. President was jealous of Modi’s rising global popularity.

She further compared him with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting three key points in the post.

“What could be the reason for this love loss? 1) He is the American President but the world’s most loved leader is the Indian Prime Minister. 2) Trump’s second term but Indian Prime Minister’s third term. 3) Undoubtedly Trump is an alpha male but our PM is sab alpha male ka baap,” she said.

“Is this jealousy or diplomatic insecurity?” she asked in the now-deleted post.

The incident has sparked discussion on X, where Kangana announced that she deleted the tweet about Donald Trump following the party president’s instructions, describing it as a personal opinion.

BJP President J.P. Nadda’s demand that Kangana Ranaut delete her tweet has ignited a fierce debate on X, with many accusing Modi and the BJP of being “slaves” to the U.S. President.

Reacting to her apology post, Dhruv Rathee asked, “Why do you think he asked you to do that? Is your party BJP afraid of Donald Trump?”
