Shaheen Bagh women write ‘No CAA and NRC’ with henna on hands

A group of women in Shaheen Bagh have got “No CAA, No NRCA” written on their hands with henna as their protest against recent ‘anti-Muslim’ and ‘unconstitutional’ Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).

“This is one of the our ways to register protest against government” a protesting woman who has got anti-CAA slogans on her hand with henna said.

For more than three weeks, hundreds of Muslim women have been braving one of the coldest winters in capital Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh to protest against CAA and NRC.

Despite several requests and warnings having been made by the police to either call off the protest or relocate themselves – the protest at Shaheen Bagh entered into its 30th day on Sunday – the demonstrators have paid no heed to the police and are continuing to protest.

The protest has drawn large crowds with scores of students, politicians, residents of Jamia Nagar and social activists coming to express their solidarity with the protesting women.
