‘ I am a Muslim, Shafin Jahan is my husband, I want to live with my husband, I want justice, Hadiya called out to the media, from the vehicle which was taking her to the Supreme Court today. Hadiya said this on the way to Delhi, when she reached Cochin International Airport , Nedumbarassery.
She said this when the police were trying to shut the media away from her.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), in its status report to the Supreme Court on Thursday, is learnt to have attached the statement of Hadiya in which she has reportedly denied any pressure to convert to Islam or marry Jahan. “She has said that she married Jahan of her own free will and decided to convert voluntarily,” a top government source told The Indian Express.
