Tamil superstar Vijay’s bicycle ride to cast his vote in Chennai’s Neelankarai polling station wins compliments on social media. Many are interpreting the ride as a statement against fuel price hike in the country.

Vijay is a critic of India’s Modi regime and his movies have came under attack by Hindu vigilante groups. Before 2021 Tamil Nadu state assembly elections, there was rumours about Vijay joining politics, a frequent step up by cine artists in Tamil Nadu.
