Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan was convicted on Thursday by a Rampur court in a 2019 hate speech case. The case was filed against Khan over his comments against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The quantum of the sentence is yet to be pronounced, Indian Express reported.
The former minister is out on interim bail granted by Supreme Court this year. He is facing nearly 90 cases under the yogi regime.
