Students across country stand against ‘state-sponsored massacre of Muslims in Delhi’

On Wednesday, students across the country have called for a boycott of all academic activities in solidarity with Muslims of Delhi, who were brutally targeted in an anti-Muslim pogrom in the national capital.

Jamia Coordination Committee

Jamia Coordination Committee, a student’s collective to organize anti-CAA & NRC initiatives in the varsity request all the concerned citizens of the country to unite and observe a protest in their respective universities, colleges, factories and localities against the state-sponsored massacre of Muslims in North-East Delhi.

It was decided to hold a citizen’s sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar, at 02.00 PM on Wednesday. Jamia students request “all the concerned citizens of Delhi to reach Jantar Mantar in large numbers and stand against the hatred and violence being perpetrated against the Muslims of northeast Delhi.”

“In view of the ongoing genocidal attempt on Muslims in north-east Delhi, It is an urgent need to call out the pre-planned state-sponsored attack on the Muslim community that has been replicated on the Gujarat Model. Specifically, Muslim shops are being burnt, houses looted and places of worship of Muslims are being set on fire. In the face of this fascist attack, civil society must come together and register voices against the Hindutva brigade and the hatred spread by RSS/BJP-Police nexus. When Jamia Millia Islamia was attacked brutally on 15th December 2019, the whole nation stood with us. But today, at least 10 people have died, and their voices remain unheard. Even after more than 48hrs of terror and fear, there is no relief. In fact, other areas are also feared to be attacked,” the statement says.
