Telangana: 15-year-old Muslim girl killed while protecting her father from mob attack

A 15-year-old Muslim girl from Telangana died after being attacked while bravely protecting her father from a mob in Antharam village, Zaheerabad, Telangana.

The girl was identified as Aliya Begum, and her father is Mohammed Ismail.

The incident occurred on February 11 when Mohammed Ismail was confronted by two men, Veera Reddy and Vijay Reddy, along with a group of men, reportedly after he was seen urinating in open fields near their residence.

Seeing her father being assaulted, Aliya Begum tried to rescue him but was seriously injured in the stone attack.

She was admitted to the hospital and remained in critical care until February 15.

Aliya, who was in the 10th standard and preparing for her board exams, succumbed to her injuries on February 15.

“This is not just an attack on one family, but on the entire community. We will not rest until justice is served,” said AIMIM MLA Kausar Mohiuddin, who visited the grieving family.

He recounted that Aliya had bravely rushed to her father’s aid but fell victim to the attack herself.

He also met the Superintendent of Police, Sangareddy District, Ch. Rupesh, and urged them to take stringent action against the culprits.

Police have registered a case against the Reddy brothers after All India Milli Council members, including Adv. Afsar Jahan, Adv. Sujaath, and others, met the Superintendent of Police in Sangareddy.

The two accused brothers were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

The All India Milli Council’s legal team, including Adv. Afsar Jahan, said, “We will not let the culprits escape. We have advised the family to stand firm and not accept any compensation that undermines their legal rights.”
