Thousands gathered in a demonstration against the Waqf Amendment Act in Maharashtra’s Parbhani on Sunday.
The program took place at Eidgah Maidan in Parbhani, organised by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
Among the speakers were AIMPLB president Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, general secretary Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, vice president Syed Sadatullah Husaini, Asaduddin Owaisi MP, Asghar Ali Imam Mahdi Salafi, Dr. Yaseen Ali Usmani, Maulana Nizamuddin Fakhruddin, Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas, Maulana Umrain Mehfooz Rehmani, Moiz Uddin Qasmi, Obaidullah Khan Azmi, Mohammad Shafi, and Mahmood Ahmad Khan.
“I tell Modiji, you have to withdraw the Waqf Bill. I had said in Parliament that this is a black law. Prime Minister Modi brought this law for his own benefit. Will Fadnavis return that property? This law has been brought to snatch our property. Waqf property belongs to Allah. BJP says that this bill will benefit poor Muslims. You are trying to snatch our mosque. If we do not protest today, all the lands will be taken away. How can the government have graveyards and mosques?” said AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who was one of the key speakers.
