TN: RSS workers arrested for holding puja, training at govt school without permission, later granted bail

Chennai Police arrested at least 44 RSS members near Porur on Thursday for conducting a Guru Puja and special Shakha training session at the Ayyappanthangal Government Higher Secondary School without prior permission.

The headmaster of the school lodged a complaint after RSS cadres entered the building without authorization.

“Police detained 39 RSS members near Porur, Chennai, after they conducted a Guru Puja and special Shakha training session at the Ayyappanthangal Government Higher Secondary School without prior permission,” Chennai Police said.

The police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for unlawful assembly and criminal trespass on government property.

After initial detention and being moved to a private hall, 44 of the members were formally arrested, an FIR was filed against them, and they were later granted station bail.
