Prominent young rights activist Umar Khalid, the UAPA prisoner in northeast Delhi pogrom conspiracy case, Saturday returned to jail.
He was granted seven day interim bail for attending his sister’s wedding after spending more than 800 days in jail.
“Umar Khalid has gone back to prison after attending his sister’s wedding,” wrote Khalid’s father SQR Ilyas.
Ilyas, the prominent Muslim leader also shared the photograph of Khalid’s father, mother and other family members greeting him.
“We got a glimpse of the life Umar deserves, spending time with family and friends. Now we wait and hope for justice to prevail,” Ilyas added.
