Five students of the University of Hyderabad (UoH), including elected students’ union president Ateeq Ahmed, have been suspended by the administration and asked to vacate their hostels by July 1.
The students faced action after they protested to conduct the cultural festival ‘Sukoon,’ which marks a high in the organizational ability of the students’ union. Students say that the university administration unilaterally cancelled the cultural festival.

The students’ union has called for a protest today afternoon inside the campus against the suspensions.
Ambedkar Students’ Association, in a social media post, called the action “Brahmanical administration’s proctorial raj.”
