Veteran journalist and author Humra Quraishi dies at 70

Veteran journalist, author, and columnist Humra Quraishi passed away on Thursday. She was 70.

Her books include Kashmir: The Untold Story, Views: Yours and Mine, More Bad Time Tales, Divine Legacy: Dagars & Dhrupad, and Meer. She co-authored a series of books with the late Khushwant Singh, including The Good, the Bad and the Ridiculous: Profiles and Absolute Khushwant.

“It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Humra Quraishi,” said a statement by her daughter Sarah, son Mustafa and daughter in law Mansi and grand children Ali, Hasan Amna.

Her books include Kashmir: The Untold Story; a volume of her collective writings, Views: Yours and Mine; a short-story collection, More Bad Time Tales and Meer: A Novel. She has co-authored The Good, The Bad and The Ridiculous: Profiles, Absolute Khushwant and a series of writings with the late Khushwant Singh. She has also contributed to the anthologies, Chasing the Good Life: On Being Single and Of Mothers and Others.
