An 11-year-old Muslim boy was assaulted and forced to shout Hindu slogans by three minors in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore.

The accused took the boy to a pond in Nipania, an area in the city, under the guise of purchasing toys.

A video circulating on social media depicts the boy without clothes, compelled to chant slogans like “Jai Shri Ram,” “Hindustan Zindabad,” and “Pakistan Murdabad.”

The boy managed to escape and subsequently inform his family, who then filed a complaint with the police.

A first information report has been registered against them based on a complaint by the 11-year-old’s parents. They have been charged under Sections 323 (causing hurt), 294 (obscene act in a public place) and 365 (kidnapping for wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code.

The three boys have been granted bail from the police station after their parents gave surety.

The Indore Police said that the minor and those accused of the crime used to live in the same locality and their parents are labourers.

In a statement, the police also urged the public to not share the video of the incident on social as those involved in the incident are minors.
