Naranipuzha Shanavas, best known for directing the recently released Malayalam movie Sufiyum Sujathayum passed away on Tuesday.
Shanavas breathed his last reportedly after suffering a cardiogenic shock. He was 37.
He was on the sets of a film when his health took a turn for the worse. He was admitted at the KG Hospital in Coimbatore.
His film Sufiyum Sujatayum was released on Amazon Prime Video on 3 July 2020, thus becoming the first Malayalam film to be released on OTT platform. The movie touches on inter-religious love.
Shanavas had made his directorial debut with the 2015 film Karie. The highly acclaimed film was based on caste violence.
