Mammootty and Parvathy to act in debutant director Ratheena’s ‘Puzhu’

Mammootty and Parvathy to act in debutant director Ratheena's 'Puzhu'

Mammootty and Parvathy are set to come together for the time for a new Malayalam film, ‘Puzhu’ directed by Ratheena.

Produced under the banner of Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films and Cyn-cyl Celluloid, this will be the first time the pair will be seen on screen.

This film will also be the first in which Mammootty and Dulquer work together, father doing the male lead and son taking the role of a producer.

The film is written by Harshad, who wrote Mammootty’s critically acclaimed film Unda and the screenwriter duo Suhas-Sharfu (Virus, Varathan).

Cinematography is by ‘Peranbu’ fame Theni Eswar. Music composer Jakes Bejoy (Ranam), and editor Deepu Joseph (Jallikattu) are a part of the project.

Mammootty took to social media to share the official title of the film directed by a woman debutante along with his wishes for Women’s Day.

Sources say Puzhu will come out in multiple languages.

Ratheena, the debutante director has been working in the industry for years. She has also worked with actor-director Revathy.

The film is expected to go on floors by the end of April.

The anticipation of seeing the Mammootty-Parvathy duo is high especially since this movie comes years after Mammootty fans viciously trolled Parvathy after she called out the directors of Mammootty starring ‘Kasaba’ for the misogynistic dialogues.
