UEFA Europa League Round of 16 first-leg match between Denmark’s Copenhagen and Medipol Basaksehir will be played without fans in attendance because of the deadly coronavirus outbreak, Anadolu Agency reported.
“The Danish Government have sent out new guidelines as of Friday the 6th of March 2020 to restrict the danger of infection of the coronavirus in Denmark,” the Copenhagen club said on its website.
Authorities recommended any sporting event with more than 1,000 spectators be postponed or canceled, it added.
Matches in the second-leg will be played March 19.
In addition to the March 12 contest at the Telia Parken Stadium, a match between AC Horsens and Randers FC Danish in the Danish Superliga will also be prohibited to fans.
