Elgar Parishad prisoners, their family and friends targeted with Israeli spyware

At least eight rights activists who are in jail under draconian UAPA in Elgar Parishad case and family, friends and lawyers of the UAPA prisoners have been targeted by the State using hacking software Pegasus sold by the Israeli surveillance company NSO Group, according to an investigation into a massive data leak.

326 sedition cases, only 6 convictions between 2014-19, reveals Home Ministry data

Protesting the "custodial death" of the Jesuit priest and human rights activist Father Stan Swamy, the Bhima Koregaon accused prisoners who were lodged in Taloja jail in Maharashtra have announced to sit on a one-day hunger strike on Wednesday. Meanwhile, alleged Maoist leader Roopesh, an undertrial prisoner in Viyyur jail in Kerala, have observed a day-long hunger strike on Wednesday protesting the same.
