FIFA World Cup 2022: Brazilian stars Neymar, Danilo to miss next game due to ankle injuries

Brazil’s team doctor on Friday confirmed that Brazilian duo Neymar and Danilo will not play in the next World Cup game due to injuries sustained during their match against Serbia.

Following the match, images of Neymar’s swollen ankle went viral on social media, breaking the hope of Brazilian fans.

“Neymar and Danilo went through an MRI on Friday afternoon, and we found ligament damage in the ankle of both of them,” the doctor told reporters.

“They will miss the next game for sure, and we will be cautious as they will undergo treatment in order to try to get them in shape so they can play again in the World Cup,” Rodrigo Lasmar said.

Brazil will play against Switzerland on 28 November and against Cameroon on 02 December. They are on the top of the table in group G.
