The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of peasant rights activist and Raijor Dal President Akhil Gogoi in the case related protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act lodged by the NIA under draconian UAPA.

Criticising the Narendra Modi government for its agricultural laws and the ongoing farmers’ protest, AIMIM supremo and MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said that the Prime Minister Modi's use of words such as ‘parasites’ and ‘Aandolan Jeevi’ is very similar to Hitler’s use of language.

The Fraternity Movement on Friday condemned the hate campaigns and registration of FIRs against its national secretary Sharjeel Usmani after he delivered a speech at Elgar Parishad 2021, saying "these perpetual hate campaigns are intended to languish the vocal Muslim youth in jail permanently."

On Wednesday, a Delhi Court has dismissed the application filed by Jamia Millia Islamia University, seeking registration of FIR against Delhi Police for committing various atrocities within the University campus in December 2019 following anti-CAA protests.

Student organisations in Delhi University including Fraternity Movement, Campus Front of India, Students Islamic Organisation of India, Democratic Students Union, and Bhagat Singh Chatr Ekta Manch jointly demanded immediate release of Jawaharlal Nehru University research scholar and Muslim student activist Sharjeel Imam and other activists who were arrested and charged under the draconian UAPA.

For an evening, Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh trembled as it witnessed a brush of violence that reminded the bloodied days from 2013. Chaos, gun shots, stampedes and arson made Muslims flee into the corners of the city. After a long night with police raids in Muslim localities, many were relieved to know only one life was taken.
