The only son of Sunil Suna and Hansamani Suna, Rashmi was a first-generation marginalized student hailing from Western Odisha. After defying all odds, he started his journey at the UoH in 2012 as an MSc student of Physics. Presently he was in the 4th year of the Ph.D. programme when the incompetent HCU medical center and Himagiri hospital failed to save a precious life. Known as a very meritorious and workaholic scholar, Rashmi has co-authored two papers, "Amplified measurement of weak optical activity using a spin-phase-gradient beam" in the Journal of Optics Letters and "Spin-orbit beams for optical chirality measurement" in the Journal of Applied Physics Letters, respectively. Rashmi had already been selected for an International Conference, "SPIE Photonics West 2019" to be held in San Francisco, USA. His father Sunil, despite being a farmer, had provided good education to Rashmi and his sister, who is presently pursuing her Certificate in Teaching (CT) course in Nabarangpur. His death is a huge loss to his family, community, village, and academics as well. He would have been a great inspiration for many other kids in his native place.

UDA formed in 2013 and led by the Ambedkar Students’ Association (ASA), has joined with the Bahujan Students’ Front (BSF), the Dalit Students’ Union (DSU), the Muslim Students’ Federation (MSF), the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the Students’ Islamic Organization of India (SIO) and the Tribal Students’ Federation (TSF).

The student’s organisations like Ambedkar Students Association has been setting up these help desks since one and half decade. ASA initiated helpdesk in University of Hyderabad in the year 1993 aimed at assisting students from marginalized sections.

A Scholar who had published three research papers in reputed journals, willing to work and having aspirations to up-bring his family and community, was forced to commit suicide on 24th-Nov-2013, due to the strategic systemic negligence from the part of ACRHEM and University of Hyderabad Administration. The death of Madari Venkatesh is not a 'personal' problem, rather is the consequence of structural and institutional discrimination, and systematic exercise of exclusionary practices.
