Amid turbulence in the ruling JD(U)-BJP alliance in Bihar over several issues, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Governor Phagu Chauhan and tendered his resignation on Tuesday.
The ruling alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United) in Bihar is over, Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar Tuesday announced in a meeting with party leaders after several days of intense political speculation in the state.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has sought time from the Governor to meet at 1 PM on Tuesday amid turbulence in the ruling JD(U)-BJP alliance.
"We will take a decision tomorrow after all our leaders review the situation," said Bihar minister and senior JD(U) leader Vijay Choudhary.

The Janata Dal (United) on Saturday extended support of its six MLAs in the Manipur assembly to the BJP as the latter is set to form government after winning a majority on its own.
