Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MPs on Monday protested against the National Education Policy (NEP) and Hindi imposition in the Lok Sabha, triggering a heated exchange that led to the House being adjourned until noon, shortly after the second leg of the Budget Session commenced.

Reminding the promise that there would be no black money post-demonetisation, DMK MP Kanimozhi questions why such black money was still being seized.

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader and Lok Sabha member Kanimozhi has accused Bharatiya Janata Party of using the death of Tamil Nadu student Lavanya to create disharmony in the state.

At a press conference organised by human rights body People’s Union for Civil Liberties, 11 eminent personalities including Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MPs Shashi Tharoor (Congress), Supriya Sule (NCP), and Kanimozhi (DMK) have called for united action in demanding the repeal of the draconian UAPA and condemned "illegal arrests" in Bhima-Koregaon case.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sought details from DMK MP Kanimozhi and said it had “ordered an enquiry into the matter” soon after Kanimozhi said a CISF officer asked if she was an Indian when she requested the woman official to speak in Tamil or English.
