Meerut Police in Uttar Pradesh have imposed restrictions on offering Eid prayers on roads, stating that violators would face legal action, including the registration of criminal cases and the cancellation of passports.
At least two hundred Muslims who moved to the road to offer Eid Namaz as the space inside the nearby mosque was filled, were booked for allegedly causing traffic congestion.
