Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party chief and former Jammu and Kahsmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has questioned the "indiscriminate crackdown" carried out by several security agencies in the aftermath of Pahalgam militant attack.
People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti claimed on Saturday that she and her mother Mehooba Mufti were placed under house arrest, alleging that the gates of their house were locked to prevent them from visiting the families of deceased civilians in Sopore and Kathua.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, on Saturday morning, claimed that outgoing calls on her mobile number have been abruptly suspended without any notification or explanation.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti staged a sit-in on a roadside on 30 December after the police prevented her from meeting the families of three Kashmiri civilians who were found dead due to torture in the custody of the Army.
Days after three civilians picked by the army for questioning were found dead in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, former chief minister and People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti was placed under house arrest on Monday to prevent her from visiting Surankote.
“The people of J&K are not going to lose hope or give up. Our fight for honour and dignity will continue regardless. This isn’t the end of the road for us,” said former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti soon after the Supreme Court upheld the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution.
