Meer Faisal, an independent journalist known for his coverage of hate crimes and mob violence, has issued a cease and desist notice to Hindutva propaganda platform OpIndia, demanding the removal of allegedly defamatory articles from its website.
The Supreme Court on Friday granted protection from possible coercive action to the editor and owner of OpIndia, a Hindutva propaganda portal in a criminal case lodged against them over allegations of spreading fake news about attacks on Bihar migrants in Tamil Nadu.
A case has been registered in Tamil Nadu against Rahul Roushan, CEO of right wing propaganda website OpIndia and it's Editor Nupur J Sharma for spreading fake news and creating a sense of fear among migrant workers in Tamil Nadu
