Nour Naser Abu al-Nour, a human rights lawyer working with Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, was killed last night along with seven of her family members, including her two-year-old daughter, in an Israeli attack on her home in Rafah, in the far south of the Gaza Strip.

Brazil’s foreign ministry has said that the country’s ambassador to Israel has been called home, following an Israeli announcement that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva would be “persona non grata” until he retracted comments drawing parallels between Israel’s war on Gaza and the Holocaust.

United Nations experts on Monday expressed alarm over credible allegations of egregious human rights violations to which Palestinian women and girls continue to be subjected in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

In his speech, Mansour himself moved to tears and breaking up as he described how international law has not protected Palestinian children in Gaza or the occupied West Bank.
