Tall Muslim figures, including the former now-banned Popular Front of India chief and SDPI’s founder president, E Abubacker, veteran journalist and National Confederation of Human Rights Organisations (NCHRO) general secretary, Professor P Koya, former PFI national chairman OMA Salam, former vice chairman E.M Abdul Rahiman, along with at least 42 Muslim leaders and activists associated with the banned Muslim group Popular Front of India, have completed one year in jail on 22 September 2023.
