Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) today welcomed the Delhi High Court's decision to grant bail to its member and Jamia Millia Islamia student Asif Iqbal Tanha, Pinjra Tod activists and Jawaharlal Nehru University students Natasha Narwal and Devangana Kalita in the northeast Delhi violence conspiracy case.
The trial court in Karkardooma granted bail to Narwal in Jaffrabad riots case. Narwal, however, will not be released from jail as she is yet to secure bail in a case under UAPA.
Delhi HC restrains police from issuing press notes naming Devangana Kalita till commencement of trial
Delhi High Court has restrained Delhi Police from giving any further media statements about allegations against Pinjra Tod activist Devangana Kalita till the framing of charges against her and commencement of trial on Monday.
The Delhi Police’s Special Cell on Friday booked arrested Pinjra Tod activist and Jawaharlal Nehru University student Natasha Narwal under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Delhi police has arrested two Jawaharlal Nehru University students in the Northeast Delhi violence case on Saturday evening.
