A violent altercation broke out at South Asian University (SAU) on Wednesday when members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) allegedly attacked students, including women, and mess staff over the serving of non-vegetarian food.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday overturned the South Asian University's November 2022 decision to expel two PhD students, Umesh Joshi and Bhim Raj. The students were expelled for their involvement in a protest demanding a stipend hike in 2020.
In what is being considered a ‘resounding victory’ for the students’ fraternity at the South Asian University (SAU) in New Delhi, the Delhi High Court on Thursday quashed an order issued by the varsity to expel a student for alleged indiscipline stating, “decision cannot sustain scrutiny law.”
