At least 15 people, including 10 women and three children, died after a sudden rush of passengers, caused by the delay of two trains for the Maha Kumbh, led to overcrowding at the New Delhi railway station on Saturday night, officials said.
While talking about the stampede during Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, The Times of India urged readers to “look for the right perspective,” in a tone suggesting that the stampede is not big news in a country like India and said the deaths are “only a fraction of total deaths from various causes.”
