At least 16 people including 10 Rohingya refugees were detained by the Railway Police Force (RPF) at Agartala railway station, for “illegally entering India”, officials said on Sunday.

Supreme Court has dismissed a special leave petition (SLP) filed by Tripura government against the Tripura HC judgment in connection with a Muslim man’s death in judicial custody.
The Tripura High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to pay a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family members of Jamal Hossain, who died due to custodial torture in police lockup.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday said he has submitted his resignation to Governor SN Arya. Deb made the announcement after meeting the governor at the Raj Bhavan.
